About The Position

DeepCure is seeking an exceptional and highly-motivated Controller to join our fast-growing collaborative team and contribute to our company’s financial health. Join us and help build, develop and lead the company's accounting operations. In this role, you will maintain, manage, and analyze financial statements, payroll, and tax compliance issues, and act as a POC for investor relations issues. Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 


The successful candidate will have a proven track record in this area, in similar organiztions and be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar role, in a small-middle size company, post Series A financing round, preferably in the biotech industry. 
  • Professional accounting certification, including CMA, CGA, or CA
  • Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP) (IFRS) and day-to-day accounting
  • Strong passion to work in a small company where you will have the opportunity to contribute to many different functions (aka wear different hats) 
  • Must be a “hands-on” contributor and be able to both design and implement processes and procedures

Hiring level commensurate with experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Experience working with subsidiaries and/or global accounting teams, and knowledge of global intercompany accounting practices and reporting methods.


Responsibilities

In this role you will:


  • Manage all aspects of accounting operations of the company including maintaining an adequate system of accounting records/policies, booking journal entries, and ensuring a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financials 
  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts
  • Design and implement monthly and quarterly accounting close processes
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
  • Manage yearly audit process with external accounting firm
  • Manage annual tax return
  • Interface with financial institutions and company investors
  • Oversee independent company valuations (409a) as needed
  • Provide financial planning and analysis input: work with the management as a key contributor on the Company’s strategic plan and ongoing business strategy 
  • Assist with planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting for the company
  • Organize and prepare financial materials and presentations
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Maintain the company’s capitalization table
